The
Office of the University Architect
is responsible for managing and
monitoring the strategic direction
and design of all physical changes
made to university owned buildings.
The office has oversight
responsibility to see that facility
design and their improvements have
been addressed and conform to
approved University Design
Standards.
The University Architect’s
approval is verification that all
designs have met university
standards and have gone through all
programming and design processes.
The mission of the Office of the
University Architect is to interact
with the planning department and
lead the design effort to create an
environment that supports learning,
research, and living campus wide.
This office maintains the list of
pre-qualified external architects
and engineers for capital project
selection as well as manages the RFQ/RFP
process for the selection of all
external architects and engineers
for capital projects and projects
over 2 million dollars.
The office also conducts
preliminary architectural
feasibility studies and initiates
programming efforts for new
structures and substantial
alterations to existing facilities.
The Design Services group reports to
the Office of the University
Architect and has the responsibility
of ensuring that design standards
are maintained and modified as
required. This group also provides
professional design services for all
capital projects from
programming/schematic design through
design development and construction
documents.
