Green Cleaning comes to Facilities!

Facilities Environmental Services division must use commercial cleaning and floor care products on a daily basis.  Many traditional cleaning and floor care products may contain hazardous ingredients that can have serious adverse health effects, not only on our custodial staff, but on our students, faculty and environment as well.  These concerns lead Environmental Services to form the Facilities Green Cleaning Product Evaluation Team.

Green cleaning uses bio-based ingredients instead of petroleum-based ingredients whenever possible to reduce the health hazards associated with the toxins in standard cleaning products.

The Charge
Dave DeHart, University Facilities Warehouse Foreperson, was chosen to chair the Facilities Green Cleaning Product Evaluation Team.
His charge…. to find the best “green” cleaning products available for Facilities Environmental Services.
